Kanbawza Bank opens its 300th branches in Yangon

Kanbawza Bank opened its 300th branch in Myanmar on Bogyoke Road in Yangon, placing Kanbawza at the top of the list of private banks with the most branches in Myanmar, sources say.

Kanbawza opened over 260 branches before August 2014 and opened the rest between August and November of this year.

The saving amount is reached to over Ks 4,100 billion until July 2014. Kanbawza bank paid over Ks 50 billion within four year period starting from 2011-2012 fiscal years.

They paid over Ks 6 billion in 2011-2012 fiscal years, about Ks 11 billion in 2012-2013 fiscal years, over Ks 17 billion in 2013-2014 fiscal years and they will pay up to Ks 22 billion as an advance tax in this fiscal year.

A golf tournament and dinner to mark the celebration of the Bogyoke branch opening was held at Aye Tharyar Golf Club in Taunggyi. Shan State Chief Minister Sao Aung Myat, Commander Major-General Aye Win of the Eastern Command, Chairperson Aung Ko Win of Kanbawza Bank Ltd., Vice Chairperson Nan Than Htwe of Kanbawza Bank Ltd. and other officials from Kanbawza Bank Ltd. all attended the ceremony. Kanbawza Bank has contributed Ks 300 million in initial capital to construct Buddha University in Taunggyi.
