Total Number of Seat Announced Todate for Upper & Lower House of Parliament

Take note that the above figures exclude the 25% of the total seats in Parliament reserved for the Military.

To date only 24% of the total seats contested have been announced at the end of Day 2.
If the NLD were to have a majority in the Upper and Lower House of Parliament – Aung San Suu Kyi will be able to decide who is elected as President.
Under this scenario – we expect most remaining Western sanctions on Myanmar to be lifted by end of this year. For to continue to sanctions Myanmar would be to undermine the new government led by Aung San Suu Kyi.
