Yangon regional government has announced people can apply for public rental apartments in South Dagon Township from Monday until February 15.
An official said: “People need to get the forms at their township general administration offices. The rent will be Ks30,000 per month.”
About 1,200 homes are planned with applicants picked at random if demand exceeds supply.
Only one person per family will be allowed to apply and recommendations from the ward and departmental head are required.
Subletting is forbidden.
The 12.5-acre project at the corner of No.2 Main and Mahabandoola roads in South Dagon Myothit in Yangon will offer 570-square-foot homes.
The union government has allotted Ks20 billion to the regional government for the Mahabandoola project.
