More than 20 awards will be dished out at the Myanmar Property Awards 2016 ceremony, organisers of the event said.
The awards for this year will be given in condominium, housing, hotel, resort, servicing, renovation, office place and retail categories.
The second edition of the annual event – a part of the Asia Property Awards program – will be held at Sule Shangri-La Yangon on June 30. An estimated 300 real estate industry people are expected to be there, the organisers said.
“Myanmar Property Award ceremony started for the first time here last year and this ceremony have been held in Asian countries for a long time. We hope the ceremony will succeed this year too,” Terry Blackburn, managing director of Property Guru International, the organiser of the event, said.
The voting for this year awards has already opened and the list of nominees for the awards will be announced on May 30. The winners of the awards will be announced at the Myanmar Property Award 2016 ceremony.
“Both local judges and international judges will participate in this year’s ceremony. We will analyse and evaluate not only the design and engineering aspects but also market dominance of the companies. We hope not only enterprises from Yangon but also from other towns will compete for the awards,” Richard Emerson, chairman of the judges panel, said.
If an award winner is blacklisted or cannot complete their project after winning the award, the award will be revoked.
“As Myanmar is in developing state, international recognition and standardisation play a pivotal role so that people can buy these properties confidently,” Blackburn added.
Myanmar Property Award ceremony will be held for the second time in Myanmar and the ceremony was held for the first time in 2015 June in which over 250 business participated and Yoma Strategic Holding was awarded as Best Developer (Myanmar).
House.com.mm, a local online property portal, said in a statement, was named as the “Official Property Portal” of the upcoming event.
“The Myanmar Property Awards is an established program rewarding developer and projects of highest quality in the industry. In this sense, it refines the industry by stimulating competition for quality,” the company said in a statement.
