Emirates is to launch a daily service from Dubai to Yangon in Myanmar and Hanoi in Vietnam.
The new flights will launch on August 3, using a three-class B777-300ER aircraft.
The route will operate as a linked service, departing Dubai at 0250 and landing into Yangon at 1105, before taking off for Hanoi at 1235 and arriving at 1450.
The return leg will leave the Vietnamese capital at 2250, landing into Yangon at 0020 the following day, before departing for Dubai at 0150 and landing at 0505.
The news will be of interest to travellers looking to reach the two destinations from the UK regions, offering either a one (Yangon) or two-stop (Hanoi) service via Dubai.
Rival Gulf carrier Qatar Airways also flies non-stop from Doha to Yangon, and via Bangkok to Hanoi, but Etihad does not currently operate flights to either destination.
There are no direct non-stop flights from the UK to Yangon – Vietnam Airlines flies non-stop from London Heathrow to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh, and recently increased its service on the latter route.
