Oway, the fastest growing travel company in Myanmar, has launched car on-demand service Oway Ride in
Yangon.
With the slogan “Your personal driver awaits” users can order the car service in Yangon “within seconds” via the Oway Ride app.
The free, user-friendly mobile app is available in English and Burmese on Google Play. It will launch on the Apple App Store soon.
Oway Ride works with three types of cars – Standard, Prime and Limo. Like other ride-hailing apps customers can see available cars close by on a map, confirm their pickup location and destination via drop down selection in the app, complete with details of the driver such as name and mobile number.
U Nay Aung: Service will expand to Mandaly and Nay Pyi Taw.
Fare calculation is based on kilometres travelled, and the fare is automatically calculated. Both the driver and customer can see the fare on their respective app. Currently the method of payment is cash. Oway Ride is currently working on the implementation of credit cards and local payment options.
As in similar services, customers can apply a star rating to evaluate their driver and share their experiences on social platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.
The company said that all its partners and drivers working in Oway Ride hold valid, required licenses, insurance, and “have undergone extensive training for defensive driving and customer service.”
Oway Ride also offers a 24/7 call centre service, and customers can place an order at any time, dialing 09 450 450 606.
U Nay Aung, CEO of Oway, said Oway Ride was the first personal car on-demand service in the company’s portfolio of travel and transport solutions.
“With Yangon as the main economic hub city in Myanmar, it is logically to launch here first with a hundreds of cars and then expand the service rapidly into other cities, such as Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw.”
