KBZ Gateway launches VSAT satellite system

KBZ Gateway Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Myanmar’s KBZ Group of Companies Ltd, launched the new generation Very Small Aperture Terminal-VSAT today to provide high-speed satellite services to customers in the country and to link with international communication systems.

Speaking on the occasion, U Nyo Myint, Senior Executive Director of KBZ Group of Companies Ltd said KBZ Gateway Co Ltd, in cooperation with Hughes Network Systems and AsiaSat, would make for better and faster banking and financial services with the KBZ Group of Companies using the high-speed satellite services as a first step as part of its efforts to meet international standards.

In the second step, KBZ will provide its VSAT satellite services to telecommunication companies and business companies, applying the telecommunication technology as part of its efforts to aid an emerging generation of satellite system in the country, he added.

KBZ Gateway, which established its base in Bago, located about 50 miles north-east of Yangon, has offered to provide VSAT satellite services to customers across the country, promising safe and speedy services for domestic and international telecommunication at competitive prices.

Also present at the launching ceremony at Strand Square were Yangon Region Economic and Finance Minister U Myint Thaung, US Ambassador to Myanmar H E Mr Scot Marciel, Executive Directors of KBZ Group of companies Ltd Nang Lang Kham and Daw Nan Kham Naung and President of Hughes Networks Systems Mr Pranav Roach.
