Myanmar moves towards establishment of Civil Service Academy

THE Union Civil Service Board (UCSB) held a consultation workshop on the establishment of a Civil Service Academy in Myanmar in cooperation with the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
UCSB Chairman Dr Win Thein and Mr. Archim Munz, resident representative of the foundation, spoke on the occasion where UCSB members, departmental heads, local and foreign experts and 40 representatives from the ministries were present.
The workshop is aimed at facilitating discussion on the Civil Service Academy’s courses which are scheduled to be opened at the Central Institutes of Civil Service under the
UCSB as well as ways and means for the development of curricula for postgraduate courses and a master’s degree program.
The new curriculum is set to offer a set of subjects that include Management, Political Science, Economics, Social Science, Law, English and ICT, said Deputy Director U Moe Zaw Win, adding that some foreign experts have suggested conducting the courses in Nay Pyi Taw as well.
The workshop continues today.
