ONLY five local and foreign fast delivery services are allowed legally by the authorities and so action will be taken if unregistered companies are found, it has been announced by Myanmar Telecommunications under the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications.
Although the postal service can only be handled by Myanmar Telecommunications under the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications the government has allowed five local and foreign fast delivery companies to conduct postal services to enable more consumer options.
The officially registered international fast delivery company is Transmarine Asia Pte Ltd, which is local, whereas the international and domestic registered fast delivery companies are Magnate Group Logistics Co Ltd and the United Courier Services Co Ltd. Officially registered domestic fast delivery companies are Royal Express Services Co Ltd and Speedy Business Services Co Ltd.
Those found in violation of the licence law may face a five-year imprisonment term and fines. Both moveable and immovable property of the violators will be confiscated.
