MOTORCAR mechanic training courses will be opened by the Japan-Myanmar Vocational Training Institute (JMVTI) which will be established as part of the relationship between the governments of Myanmar and Japan.
The IMVTI will be opened on a 21-acre plot of land in Insein township, the place of the former government’s technical high school.
“We have been planning to implement this project for a long time. But this time, we will try our best to start this project in December. Japan will provide monetary and technical assistance. We only need to manage it. Those wishing to attend JMVTI classes must be pass grade nine, and they must be fanatical about cars. We haven’t decided on the number of students allowed yet.” said Dr Tin Aung, chairman of the Phyithu Hluttaw educational promotion committee.
“There are so many cars in Myanmar these days. Expert mechanics are needed to repair and maintain the cars. We help youths to become skilled motor mechanics. We will start with mechanics and then we will open classes for other disciplines,” said Mr Ichiro Aisawa, chairman of the Japan –Myanmar Hluttaw Friendship Association. Representatives of the Hluttaw of Myanmar have gone on a study tour of vocational training schools in Japan, it is noted.
