A workshop on investment opportunities for foreigners in the Myanmar agricultural sector organised by the Myanmar Fruit, Flower and Vegetable Producers and Exporters Association took place in the meeting hall of the Mandalay Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MRCCI) in Mandalay on Monday 22 August.
At the workshop, the Director General U Aung Soe of the Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization under the Ministry of Commerce delivered the formal opening speech. The regional head of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration gave a talk on investment laws and opportunities of investment in Myanmar in line with investment law. U Myo Thu, the director of the Myanmar Trade Promotion Organization, gave a talk on internal and external markets and price situations in the fruit, flower and vegetable sector, the future prospects of fresh farm produce and Farmland Law. An official from the Myanmar Fruit, Flower and Vegetable Producers and Exporters Association gave a talk on the cooperation of foreign investors and his organisation. An official from the Immigration and Population Department gave a talk on the conditions of hiring foreign experts to work in Myanmar in line with the Myanmar Immigration Law.
Officials then responded to queries from attendees.
