Motorbikes and four-wheeled vehicles to be banned in Chaung Thar Beach in October

According to U Min Kyaw Oo, the secretary of Chaung Tha hotel zone, riding motorbikes and four-wheeled vehicles will be forbidden within the Chaung Tha Beach area to maintain the natural beauty around the beach and to not disturb visitors.

In addition to banning motorised vehicles at Chaung Tha beach, selling food, alcohol and drugs will also be restricted. “Those above vehicles will not be allowed to ride at the beach, and the authorities will discuss the riding of horses. Bikes will be permitted. Street vendors can sell but not around Chaung Tha beach. Authorized persons will prohibit the selling of alcohol, beer and drugs,” added U Min Kyaw Oo.

During the third week of September, a three-day workshop on the preservation of nature and long-term development around Chaung Tha beach was held, with participation from representatives of Ayeyawady region government, the ministry of hotels and tourism, representatives of regional Hluttaw, private businessmen, authorities of the hotel zone, administrators of wards and villages and locals.
