Construction developers and fish breeders can submit their proposals to the Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) to hire government-owned land, according to Kyaw Win, minister for planning and finance.
The MIC would serve as a focal point for entrepreneurs and coordinate the availability of land with region and state governments after receiving proposals, said Kyaw Win, who is also the MIC chair.
“I would like to invite fish breeders to submit their proposals along with a detailed description of locations and investments. In addition, developers were invited to invest in housing projects, he continued.
“According to the fishery department, an estimated 3.5 million people are fully engaged in the fishery sector. I welcome the minister’s invitation. There are 480,000 acres of fish lakes and ponds across the country. Of them, only 108,000 acres have already got the correct documentation,” said Win Kyaing of the Myanmar Fishery Federation.
