Earnings from border trade between Myanmar and Thailand reached over US$1 billion this fiscal year compared to $160 million in the same period in last fiscal year, according to Directorate of Trade.
Myanmar earned $1.025 billion from border trade with Thailand as of January 20 this fiscal year, according to statistics from the department.
Myanmar has opened border trade centers in Tachilek, Myawady, Kawthoung, Myeik, Nabule/Htikhi, Mawtaung and Maese.
Border trade earnings increased in Myawady, Tachilek and Myeik border trade centers and declined in Kawthoung, Mawtaung and Nabule/Htikhi border trade centers.
Myanmar exported farm products, animal products, mining products, forestry products and finished products from industry and imported consumer products, raw materials used in industry and goods used in other investment sector, according to Ministry of Commerce.
