Myanmar requires skilled workers

Myanmar is looking for skilled workers in various sectors as it continues to open its doors to foreigners, a business consultant said Tuesday.

Myanmar offers opportunities in the civil engineering, electrical engineering, telecommunications, and banking fields, said Andrew Tan, managing director of Yangon-based Consult-Myanmar.

“They are looking for skilled people who can add value,” he told ANC’s “Early Edition”. {ANC, the ABS-CBN news channel and the country’s first 24/7 English language news channel in the Philippines}

Tan warned, however, that investors should “approach Myanmar with caution” because it is an emerging market.

President Rodrigo Duterte was in Myanmar on Sunday for an official visit in a bid to bolster trade and investment ties.
