Five awarded Eisenhower Fellowship with the assistance of Max Myanmar Zaw Zaw

Five citizens have got Eisenhower Fellowship sponsored by the United States for the first time with the assistance of Zaw Zaw, chairman of Max Myanmar Group of Companies.

The Eisenhower Fellowship 2017 Programme will start on October 1 and end on November 17. Myanmar joins 108 countries which have hosted Eisenhower Fellows, including six other Asean members.

Zaw Zaw said: “The launch of an Eisenhower Fellowships programme in Myanmar is an important step in connecting our best and brightest young leaders with the fellowship network around the world and throughout Southeast Asia.”

George De Lama, president of Eisenhower Fellows, said: “Eisenhower Fellowships is excited to launch in Myanmar and play a role in the development of young leaders in this important Southeast Asian country.

“Myanmar is the seventh Asean country from which we have hosted Eisenhower Fellows. We are excited about the programme and the fellows who will visit this fall. We are deeply grateful for U Zaw Zaw and Max Myanmar’s support which helped us expand the 2017 programme.”

Colin Powell, former US secretary of state, who also leads the Eisenhower Fellowship, attended the launching ceremony and then met Zaw Zaw.
