Developers have started construction on the second phase of the Bo Ba Htoo affordable housing project in Yangon’s North Dagon township, the Yangon City Development Committee has said.
The project, which the Yangon regional government hopes will be complete in 2018, sits on just under 15 acres of land in North Dagon Township at the corner of Bayint Naung Road and Bo Hmu Ba Htoo Road.
The project is a joint venture between the Yangon City Development Committee and real estate and infrastructure conglomerate Myanmar V Pile. Its second phase will cost an estimated K30 billion, roughly $21.8 million.
The grounds of the housing project will feature a playground, a leisure space, and car parking.
Units from the first phase of the project, which were offered under a lot-drawing system, have already sold out, and units from the second phase went on sale on May 2. Sales will be open until June 2nd, the developers said.
Buyers will be bidding for 864 apartments in 27 eight-storey buildings. Prices start at K25.8 million kyat for the smallest apartment and go up to K377 million for a 900-square-foot unit.
A 600-square-foot apartment features a living room, two beda rooms, bathroom and a kitchen while the 900-square foot apartments offer a living room, three bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchen as well as a lift for common use by 16 apartments
