Yangon Water Bus Operational Soon

As the launch day for Yangon’s first ever water taxiing services draw near, Tint Tint Myanmar scrambles to get everything ready.

According to chairperson Tint Tint Lwin, everything is good to go except a couple of jetties.

“It is Water Bus launch day soon and there are difficulties in two or three jetties but the rest of the Water Bus group is ready,” she said.

She claimed that so far, everything has gone swimmingly well due to the support from several organizations such as the Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) and the marine administration department.

Tint Tint Lwin said, “The boats are ready and waiting in Pattaya and once we obtain remaining documents regarding MIC and jetties, all of the boats will be moved here in one week. The services will begin in two weeks’ time but the problem is that some jetties cannot support the amount of boats. For example, the jetty in Bohtahtaung has enough space for only one or two boats parked at one time. So the new one being built in Insein will have to house most of them. Once it’s done, all the boats will be called here.”
