Lawsuits filed against former minister’s son and others for possessing drugs and weapons

Phyo Ko Ko Tint San, son of ex-Union Minister Tint Hsan, his wife and 10 others have been arrested for possessing narcotic drugs and weapons, and all have been charged in Thakayta Township, Bahan Township and Nay Pyi Taw Council Area where narcotic drugs and weapons were found, reported the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Three people including Phyo Ko Ko Tint San were arrested for possessing narcotic drugs and weapons at Nay Pyi Taw International Airport on October 15.

“We are prioritising the pursuit of their links and accomplices,” Home Deputy Minister Maj-General Aung Soe said during a break in his attendance at the Union Parliament on October 17. “Now we have arrested 12 culprits and seized a total of 22 guns. We will release further information to the people in time. Now the culprits are under investigation.”

Maj-Gen Aung Soe added: “Our procedures are not finished yet. When all procedures are finished, we will go on with getting the permission of the government. It is still under investigation so it is too early to say anything about it.

“The most important thing is to be able to expose further weapons and links. They are not to be missed. We are carrying out our tasks in line with rules and regulations in a synchronised manner.”

On October 15, Phyo Ko Ko Tint San, Ye Min Swe and Zaw Win Htaik were arrested for possession of narcotic drugs and guns at Nay Pyi Taw International Airport.

Seized items included 12 orange stimulant tablets bearing the letters “WY”, 1.5 grams of white crystal presumed to be the drug “ice”, a 9mm Glock gun made in Austria, a magazine holding 12 bullets, two gun cases branded “Black Tech”, a container with 50 bullets for a 9mm Luger gun, a laser seal with Phyo Ko Ko Tint San (LS-609), a name card of Phyo Ko Ko Tint Hsan, a handbag with the name of the National Security Council, a special passport, a remote control for a drone with the DJI brand, a black magnifying glass, walkie-talkies of the Yaesu, WindTalker and Kendwood brands, two bullets for a 9mm Luger, the State flag emblem with the name of Phyo Ko Ko Tint San, and a guerrilla sack with stickers having an Austrian-made 9mm Glock gun branded RPE 204 and a magazine holding 8 bullets, according to police records.

The police made a search of the Ace Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area on October 16. A P22 Walther pistol installed with a magazine, a Berretta brand pistol installed with a magazine, a Luger Cz 75D pistol installed with a magazine, a PX 32726 Berretter pistol installed with a magazine, a 333-54070 Ruger 9mm Prescott Az pistol installed with a magazine, 638 bullets of 9mm Luger, 20 bullets of M16, two magazines, 136 bullets of 7.65 MM (32 Auto), ten bullets of 22, seven magazines, M16 hand ring, five pistol bags, a bulletproof vest and a sniper binoculars were seized.

The police also searched the rooms of Ye Min Swe and Zaw Win Htaik, and found a 9mm Glock pistol, branded LLB-170, installed with a magazine and 12 bullets, a Glock pistol of Ges. MbH installed with a magazine and four bullets. A total of 9 pistols, 892 bullets and 16 magazines were seized.

The police also searched room No JS004 of the hotel. A 9mm Glock pistol, LLB-170, installed with a magazine holding 12 bullets, and a Glock pistol of Ges m.b.H installed with a magazine holding four bullets were found in the black handbags.

In connection with the incidents, Phyo Ko Ko Tint San, his wife, three company servants and a manager have been arrested.

The police made searches at the headquarters of the ACE in Thakayta, Yangon. Three guns, bulletproof vests, drones and vehicles named with National Security Council Special Forces and narcotic drugs were seized. Then Phyo Bo Bo, 24, the manager of Nay Pyi Taw FC and Soe Myint Kyaw, the assistant manager of Nay Pyi Taw Hotel ACE were also arrested.
The police made also searched Phyo Ko Ko Tint San;s house in Bahan Township, Yangon. Three bullets of 5.56, a guerilla cloth branded with PhyoKo Ko Tint San and a State emblem, a black shirt named with State emblem and head of bones, two sniper binoculars, a compass, a walkie-talkie, two bulletproof vests, a magazine, two stimulant tablets, a packet presumed to contain ”ice” the powder, and drug-related materials were seized.

Three people including Phyo Ko Ko Tint San were remanded in custody on October 16. They will undergo urine tests at the 1,000-bed hospital in Nay Pyi Taw and they will be brought to trial on October 30.
