Myotha Golf Club to be Completed in December

The construction of the Myotha National Golf Club in Mandalay-Myotha industrial park will be completed in December, the club’s managing director said.

“The whole 18 holes golf will be finished in December,” said U Tun Tun Aung, managing director of Mandalay-Myotha Industrial Development Public Company.

“People can play but we need to add further Club Houses and Facilities. It will be fully operational by April, 2018,” he added.

The construction of the 688-hectare golf course started in May. It was designed by Schmidt-Curley’s Design Team from America and built by Green Dynasty with US$ 25 million of investment.

“There are about 600,000 golf tourists from Korea in Thailand, once Myotha National Golf Club is operational, they can visit Myanmar,” said U Aung Win Khine from Mandalay-Myotha Industrial Development Public Company.

“The Mandalay Region government plans to boost the tourism sector from April 2018 onward,” he added. “We will hold South East Asia or Asia level golf competition upon approval of the regional government.”

Foreign golfers who visited the Myotha National Golf Club said that it makes the top five golf courses in Asia, he added.
