Ministry of Health and Sports cancelled tenders for the purchase of computers for nursing and midwifery training schools due to inconsistency, on March 19.
The ministry invited tenders for the purchase of computers via State-owned newspapers on March 10 and 11.
The advertisement said open tenders were invited for the supply of computers in local currency, for the ministry, Department of Health Professional Resources Development and Management and nursing and midwifery training schools. The tender application form was available on March 12. The deadline for the tender was March 21.
The cancellation of tenders occurred after there was widespread criticism among social network users, over corruption. According to social media, the ministry will buy Core i7 Dell desktop computers. There is widespread criticism as tender-winners will have to supply 250 desktop computers within two days after signing the contract.
