Maersk Area Managing Director Marco Civardi and Sealand Asia Managing Director Bo Wegener have cut the ribbon to officially open A.P. Moller – Maersk’s new central city office in Yangon. Located in Junction City, one of the newest built grade-A office towers, the 703-square meter office will provide work space for up to 80 employees from Maersk, Sealand and Damco Freight Forwarding.
“Moving into this new modern office reflects our commitment to our employees and to the Myanmar business community now and for the future”, said Marco Civardi, Maersk Area Managing Director for Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar.
“The flexible, multi-purpose space will offer our employees an environment that promotes collaboration, engagement and well-being. We are conveniently located in the city center and I am confident that we can better serve our customers from this new office.”
Maersk has been present in Myanmar since 1991, and opened its own agency office in Yangon in May 2014, in tandem with sister company Sealand Asia, which specialises in intra-Asia trade.
