KBZ’s new ATR 72-600 planes arrive in Yangon

Two out of four new ATR 72-600 series planes from Air KBZ arrived in Yangon International Airport on May 6, sources said.

The Air KBZ, which possessed 20 per cent in domestic aviation market, is planning to expand its fleet.

The other two new planes will be arrived on June. The airlines is flying domestic flights with ten aircrafts to Nay Pyi Taw, Nyaung-U, Heho, Myitkyina, Techilek, Lashio, Loikaw, Kalay, Thandwe, Sittwe, Dawei, Myeik and Kawthoung and it is planning to extend their flights to neighbouring countries soon.

The airlines is increasing its fleet to double and planning to increase its market shares to 35 per cent in domestic aviation industry, said its Chief Operation Officer Kyaw Han during an anniversary dinner of Myanmar Airways International (MAI) and the Air KBZ held on February 28.

The Air KBZ is currently running 13 domestic flights with five ATR 72-600 series planes and one ATR 72-500 series plane. The MAI is flying to Bangkok, Singapore, Guangzhou and Kolkata from Yangon International Airport with three A319 planes.
