Ooredoo Myanmar first to offer direct billing on Google Play Store

Ooredoo Myanmar has announced it has become the first telecom operator in Myanmar to offer direct billing as a payment option for the Google Play Store.

Ooredoo users who use Android phones (which includes a built-in Google Play Store app) will no longer need to use credit cards to purchase applications and in-app items from Google Play Store.

Users can simply pay using their Ooredoo Airtime. The only thing they need to do is to log in to the Google Play Store with their Google Account and set up Ooredoo as the payment channel by following an easy registration process.

“Now, Ooredoo customers will be able to purchase easily and conveniently using their Ooredoo phone bill to enjoy their digital lifestyle. It is definitely an easier and more user-friendly service, our customers do not need to pay any additional charges to Ooredoo to enjoy Google Play Store Carrier Billing service,” said Mr. Alok Verma, Chief Commercial Officer of Ooredoo Myanmar.
