Myanmar Airways International announces direct flights from Yangon to Incheon in December

Myanmar Airways International (MAI) will offer non-stop flights between Yangon, Myanmar and Incheon, South Korea from December 3 onwards.

The airline will deploy a 144-seater A319 aircraft to service the route. It will operate four flights a week on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Flights will depart Yangon at 4.45pm and arrive in Incheon at 12.50am.

Incheon will be MAI’s tenth international destination. It currently flies to Bangkok, Singapore, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Nanchang, Hefei, Fuzhou and Kolkata with a fleet of three A319 aircraft. It runs a seasonal service to Gaya in India for religious pilgrims.

The airline also operates domestic flights to 15 destinations, including codeshare routes operated by its sister airline, Air KBZ. Through expanding its fleet domestic flight network, MAI is now able to offer domestic connecting flights to popular tourist destinations such as Bagan, Mandalay and Heho within the day. Due to the lack of flights in the past, travelers from other states and regions in Myanmar traveled by car and bus as well as by plane to access these areas.

Yangon-based MAI is part of the largest airline group in Myanmar, commanding approximately 7 percent of international seat capacity in Myanmar. It plans to double its fleet by the end of this year.
