More than 250 filling stations were allowed within ten months in 2019, bringing Myanmar’s total count to 2,462 filling stations across the country, according to figures from the Ministry of Electricity and Energy.
There are 94 filling stations in Nay Pyi Taw, 186 filling stations in Yangon Region, 647 filling stations in Mandalay Region, 214 filling stations in Ayeyawady Region, 261 filling stations in Bago Region, 187 filling stations in Magway Region, 231 filling stations in Sagaing Region, 29 filling stations in Taninthayi Region, 117 filling stations in Kachin State, 18 filling stations in Kayah State, 52 filling stations in Kayin State, 5 filling stations in Chin State, 137 filling stations in Mon State, 38 filling stations in Rakhine State, 57 filling stations in eastern Shan State, 194 filling stations in northern Shan State and 175 filling stations in southern Shan State.
The fuel prices in Yangon Region in November 23 are Ks 970 per liter for Diesel (Ks 4,410 per gallon), Ks 980 per liter for premium diesel (Ks 4,455 per gallon), Ks 890 per liter for 92 Ron (Ks 4,046 per gallon) and Ks 990 per liter for 95 Ron (Ks 4,500 per gallon).
Myanmar imported 4.957 million tons of fuel worth over US$2.9 billion from October 1 to August 30 in 2018-19 FY and it imported 5.444 million tons of fuel worth over US$3.326 billion in the same period in the last fiscal year, according to the ministry.
Myanmar imported over three million tons of diesel worth over US$1.797 billion within 11 months of this fiscal year and it is less than 650,000 million tons of diesel (worth about US$380 million) compared with the same period in the last fiscal year, according to the ministry.
Moreover, Myanmar imported over 1.877 million tons of petrol worth over US$1.144 billion within 11 months of this fiscal year and it is more than 160,000 tons of petrol in compared with the same period in the last fiscal year but the value is less than US$5 million.
