Company introduces game especially for tourists

Myanmar’s ZE3 Co has introduced its new TREK game, aimed at tourists to the Golden Land. The product launch was held on February 9.

The game uses a series of cards, to help visitors learn more and explore the sites of the country. Beautifully designed and presented in a box set, the cards also make souvenirs.

“It’s a fun card game to play with friends and explore the most beautiful tourist attractions around Myanmar,” the company’s Facebook page proclaims.

The launch ceremony was held during a one hour cruise of the Yangon River aboard the ship Panekari. The creators of TREK Myanmar Ko Tin Aung Myaing and June both gave short presentation speeches

during the ceremony. They jointly established ZE3 in 2016, and decided to pool their design skills to make card games in English and Myanmar.

Ko Tin Aung Myaing is a game creator and an engineer who has been interested in creating games since he was 10. He worked with the Neuronic Game Studio in New York, before returning to Myanmar to found a Yangon-based software company called Wild River Technology in 2014.

“We wrote software for businesses for a while, the got the idea to create the TREK game while we were touring across the country,” Tam explained.

“When I visited Bagan, I came up with an idea to create a game design. So, I talked about it with June, and developed the game. The game includes five famous cities in Myanmar, 50 cards, and instructions for the game,” said TAM.

June who has an entrepreneurial mindset, also has an engineering background. She co-founded the Dice Society Café in Yangon, a venue where customers can play board games like chess.

“This game was designed particularly for tourists to Myanmar, but anyone can stop by and play it. We’ll continue to develop teaching aid games for children in future,” said June.

The TREK Myanmar card game can be played by one to five people. The images and information on the cards are designed to serve as souvenirs for the players, containing interesting facts about Myanmar, the game developers say.
