According to the Myanmar Embassy in Beijing, Myanmar local products and traditional handicrafts with quality packaging will be featured into China (Chongqing)-Myanmar Friendship Week and Cooperation Forum in the first week of March. This five-day forum will be jointly held in the first week of March by the Myanmar Embassy in Beijing and China (Chongqing) municipal government. The forum will display Myanmar’s local product and will attract importers in Chongqing and other municipalities.
Myanmar will introduce its value-added snacks; cashew, jaggery, peanut butter, peanut snacks, sesame snacks, plum jam and plum snacks, biscuit, tangerine cubes and assorted toffees and preserved Myanmar traditional snacks.
Additionally, coffee beans, coffee powder, instant coffee packets, dried tea leaf, tangerine, mango and plum juices and other beverages such as rum, whisky, wine and beer will be showcased.
Furthermore, local spices (black pepper, turmeric, cardamom and bay leaf) and Myanmar’s handicrafts and souvenirs (wooden crafts, paintings and snail shell wind chimes) will be put on the forum. Myanmar’s agricultural products, including various pulses and Tragacanth gum and fruits, are also included. Those interested businesspersons are cordially invited to join the forum by emailing through info@myanmarembassy.com. Samples of Myanmar’s products are firstly sent to China, and Myanmar Embassy will pay the shipping cost. The sample products will be displayed in the form as well as trade promotion showrooms in other big cities of China.
The press release of Myanmar embassy in Beijing also stated that the bilateral trade between Myanmar and China was estimated at US$18 billion in 2019, as per the data released by the General Administration of the Customs of the People’s Republic of China (GACC). (Translated by Ei Myat Mon)
