The Tatmadaw (military) has announced more additions to its cabinet of ministers and into key positions in the economy and legislature.
These include:
- Dr Thida Oo, current permanent secretary for Union Attorney General Office as Union Attorney General
- Dr Kan Zaw, former Minister under U Thein Sein’s government, as Auditor General
- U Than Nyein, former Central Bank governor under U Thein Sein, as new Central Bank governor
- U Khin Maung Yee, current permanent secretary for Natural Resouces and Environmental Conservation, as Minister
- U Shwe Lay, current permanent secretary for Construction, as Minister
- Dr Mg Mg Naing as Nay Pyi Taw Council Chair (unchanged)
- U Thein Soe as New Union Electoral Commission chair with five new members
- Chairs of six Self-Administered Zones appointed (Naga, Danu, Pa-O, Palaung, Kokang, Wa)
- Chairs of Regions and States Administrative Council
- Police Lt Gen Aung Win Oo has been forced to retire
- Lt General Than Hlaing as Police Lt General and Deputy Minister for Home Affairs
- Deputy Attorney General U Win Myint has been terminated
- Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Major General Soe Tint Naing transferred to Union Government Office Ministry
